According to how the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System has designed a car’s title, it can show more than the proof of ownership. It can provide other information that will show whether the car has ever been totaled, or involved in flood or accidents that resulted in severe damages. The type of title a car will play a great role in how much it can be sold. The title also determines whether the vehicle is roadworthy or not. Before you buy a car, do well to check the car’s title information, it is not so difficult to do this as long as you take the right information to the right place. Let’s see how you can find information about a car title owner.

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is to get the Vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), the VIN is a unique number containing 17 digits. You will find the VIN number of your vehicle at the bottom corner of the windshield, on the driver’s side, just outside the vehicle. It is usually engraved on a small metal plate. If you can’t find the Vin in that location, you can check for it around the door jambs of the car, on the driver’s side. You can also check around the glove trunk or box of the car if you still can’t find it in the last two locations.

You can also search on the internet for the VIN number of a car by using the vehicle’s year, make, and model.

Step 2

Enter the VIN in the search box on a website such as AutoCheck or CARFAX. You can get a free VIN check for free on these websites to see of the VIN number is in database, and the number of records that are on file for the particular number. If you find the number, you will need to make a payment to the selected company in order to view the records.

Step 3

Visit the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in your state. Go with your VIN, details of the car’s make, year, and model, and your license plate number, if it is available. Let them know what you want the vehicle’s title information and what information you have garnered so far. From the stage, the next steps required may vary depending on your state’s laws and regulations. It might be possible for your local DMV to give you the information vis phone, or they want you to submit the request in writing or by filling an application form.

Once, you are able to scale through the third step, you will be able to get your title information in no time. Find out more at https://www.bloglovin.com/@danpencer/why-money-wont-solve-your-problems.
